Get to Know HGTV Canada's Bryan Baeumler

As 2018 comes to a close, we’re already looking forward to our first major event of 2019 - the Calgary Renovation Show! This year, we’re excited to welcome HGTV Canada’s Bryan Baeumler, star of the upcoming Island of Bryan to headline the Main Stage at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park.
1. Bryan’s Been Practicing his Trade from a Young Age
Bryan learned valuable tricks of the trade from his father, an aircraft engineer. Bryan spent his childhood building his family cottage, and he even opened up his own handyman business at at 14 and did odd jobs for his neighbours.
2. He’s a Gemini Award-Winning Host
As one of the top hosts on HGTV Canada, Bryan has been entertaining and educating viewers for over ten years! He’s hosted Disaster DIY, Leave it to Bryan, House of Bryan, Home to Win, and Bryan Inc., and he even picked up a Gemini Award for Best Host in a Lifestyle/Practical Information, or Performing Arts Program or Series.
3. His Career Almost Took a Completely Different Turn
Bryan earned a dual degree in Political Science and Business and was heading towards law school. He realized his true passion was renovating and changed his career path, founding his contracting company Baeumler Quality Construction.
4. His Business is a Family Business
Bryan works alongside his wife Sarah, a former classical dance teacher. They’ve worked together on House of Bryan and most recently, on Bryan Inc. Together, Bryan and Sarah launched the Baeumler Family Foundation -- a charitable organization that provides renovations to families in need of safety, accessibility and security.
5. He’s Been Busy in the Bahamas
Bryan’s latest show, the upcoming Island of Bryan, has taken him to the sunny Bahamas for the past few months tackling his biggest project yet - renovating a resort he bought with Sarah.
